Herbert “Herb” Flint reached his goal of presence with his

Lord on September 30, 2021. Born in Orrville,

Ohio on August 4, 1928, to

Herbert, Sr. and Florence

Flint. Preceded in death by his parents, first wife

Margaret “Peg”, the mother of his children, brother

John (Margaret), sisters

Elizabeth (Harry) Pollak,

Ruth (Walter) Handwerk,

Florence (Willard) Fritz and

Marion (Warren) Steiner.

He is survived by his wife,

Donna J. (Vance/greene); daughters, Bonnie (David)

Lucas and Molly Sue (Craig)

Drozda; and son, Brian (Donna) Flint; grandchild­ren, Adam (Lauren) Dyas,

Brant (Betsy) Lucas, Sean

Flint, Shannon Flint, Terie

Flint, Jennifer Jones, Kara

Flint, Eric Nicodemus; five greatgrand­children, and many nephews and nieces.

daughter, Kelly (Mike)

Bull; son, Chuck (Kathy)

Greene; and grandchild­ren,

Michael (Meghan) and Daniel

Bull and Chase, Tyler,

Tanner Greene and Karlee (Derek) Cooks. Herb graduated from Orrville Ohio High

School and The Ohio State

University School of Journalism

and served as Business

Manager of the OSU student newspaper, The

Lantern. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and Bucket and

Dipper Junior Men’s Honorary.

He was a veteran of the

U.S. Army during the World

War II era and following college, he was employed by the Westinghou­se Electric

Corporatio­n, where he held several management positions including Mid-western

Regional Public Relations

Manager in Chicago. Subsequent­ly

joined his good friend Richard Burkholder for more than 30 years in the advertisin­g and public relations firm Burkholder

Flint & Associates where he was chairman at his retirement. He served as

Advisory Board Chairman of the Salvation Army of Central

Ohio and was named

Lifetime Member, Chairman of the Central Ohio Better

Business Bureau, President

of the Central Ohio

Public Relations Society and President of The Ohio

State University’s Franklin

County Alumni Club. For more than 54 years, he taught Bible study classes and held many administra­tive positions at the Lane

Avenue Baptist Church and

Dublin Baptist Church. He was honored with a Citizen of the Year Award by the downtown Kiwanis Club,

Columbus Area Council of

Churches, Public Relations

Society of Central Ohio and Lane Avenue Baptist

Church. Herb was a 50-year member of the Downtown

Kiwanis Club of Columbus and had membership­s in the OSU Golf Club, the

Worthingto­n Hills Country

Club, OSU Alumni Associatio­n,

American Legion and life member Veterans of

Foreign Wars. Funeral service will be held at 11AM

Monday, October 4, 2021, at Dublin Baptist Church, 7195 Coffman Rd., Dublin, where family will receive friends from 10AM until time-of-service Monday.
