Appalachian Ohio is gem awaiting further investment to unlock potential

-

The “Reimagine Appalachia would create well-paying jobs” guest column in the Sept. 28 Dispatch should inspire our state leaders to tap into the unlimited potential that the southern portion of our state offers.

The majestic beauty of areas such as the Hocking Hills and surrounding communities have not begun to reach their potential as a major tourist attraction. Hopefully when the new lodge at Hocking Hills State

Park is completed late next year, and with further investment by the state and corporations, we will succeed in bringing great opportunities to these areas of our beautiful state.

In fact, much of southern Ohio presents great economic opportunities that have been somehow forgotten. An investment in the Appalachian communities of Ohio will certainly pay huge dividends for all Ohioans.
