Wohlfarth, Kenneth “Kenny”

Kenneth M. “Kenny” Wohlfarth, born on June 17, 1933 to Oscar and Marian Wohlfarth. He is preceded in death by his brother Bill Ross (Betty and Norma), nephews Bill and David Ross, brothersin-law and sister-in-law Jesse, John Thomas and Cheryl Ann Klingler, cousin Craig Wohlfarth. Kenny graduated from South high school in 1952 along with his wife of 64 years Barbara Klingler Wohlfarth. He was awarded a position on the All-city basketball team and attended Ohio University on a football scholarshi­p. Kenny was then drafted and served in the Korean War. As president of Mechanical Services, he received the “Man of the Year” award on two occasions. He was devoted to mechanical contractin­g and went on to become the National Chairman and board member of the Mechanical Service Contractor­s of America, where he also received their “Man of the Year“award. Business Hall of Fame and chairperso­n of the first Service Maintenanc­e Bureau prior to serving as President and Board Member. Kenny was active in many service and charity associatio­ns. He was president of the German Village Kiwanis, Charity Newsies (Brice and Livingston) and Brothers Club. He was a 32 Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite and Aladdin Temple Shrine. After retiring to Florida for several years, he served as the National Labor Management Consultant as well as a Board Member of Lexington Country Club, where he was an avid golfer, and the President of Council for St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, on Ft. Myers Beach. Before retiring to Florida, Kenny renovated his homestead in German Village, where he and Barb became active in German Village society. They both enjoyed many years with friends at their cottage in Millerspor­t, Ohio at Buckeye Lake. Upon returning to Columbus, Kenny and Barbara are members of Saint John Lutheran Church, in Dublin, Ohio as well as a board member of the Woods at Hayden Run. Kenny is survived by his wife, Barbara; nephews, Mark (Shelley), Michael (Linda), Jeffrey (Kathleen); sisters-in-law, Mary Klingler and Sharon Ross (David); many great nephews and great nieces; longtime friends, Jerry Kaiser, Newt Thomas, Dick Stedman and Jim Hangen. A special remembranc­e to his “Thursday Night Golf Buddies”, Will Plank, Gary Phillips and Newt Thomas. Friends received Wednesday from 10-11am at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 South High Street, where Funeral Service will be held at 11am. Pastor Adam Steinbrenn­er officiatin­g.
