Col. Steven Russell Blatt, Ret., Henderson, Nevada. Steve Blatt passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the age of 69. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, and attended Brookhaven High School. He received a Master of Science in Informatio­n Technology Management from Touro University, Magna Cum Laude. Steve spent 11 years with the Columbus Police Department, eventually serving more than 30 years in the Army, OH and AZ Air National Guards, and U.S. Air Force.

Steve’s passion was flying, and throughout his career he piloted a helicopter, A-7 Corsair, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and T-1 Jayhawk. Following his retirement from the military, he continued to indulge in his love

of flying through his most recent employment with the Federal Aviation Administra­tion. Survived by his wife of 36 years, Harlene Bright; daughters, Chantel Lawson, Angela Blatt; and stepdaught­er, Michelle Bright; brother, Stanley Blatt (wife, Mary); sister, Susan Ball (husband, John); brother-inlaw, Carl Smyers; and sisterin-law, Roxanne Atkinson; grandsons, Mason Lawson and Chance Androsac; and great-granddaugh­ter, Luna Lawson.
