Joan Marilyn Seiple, age 90, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021, Dublin, Ohio. Joan was born October 9, 1930, in Columbus, Ohio to the late James Marion Furgason and Helen B. Thompson. She graduated from North High School and attended The Ohio State University where she pledged Pi Beta Phi. Joan conveyed a positive attitude, and an adventures­ome spirit, learning to sail, ski and fly with her beloved husband, George, of 64 years. Joan had a passion for travel and especially loved her trips to the British Isles, France, Italy, Switzerlan­d, and Norway. Closer to home she and her husband camped coast to coast, up through Canada and Alaska, as well as Mexico. Joan was an active member of Third Church Christ Scientist and the Clintonvil­le Woman’s Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband H. George Seiple, brother James C. Furgason, and son Scott George Seiple. Joan’s absence is felt deeply, confirming her life was full of love and devotion to family. Joan will be greatly missed by her children, Sandra (Robert) Carland, Steve (Debra) Seiple; daughter-in-law, Julie Theibert Seiple; grandchild­ren, Michelle (Mark) Gulgas, James (Melissa) Carland, Robert (Sarah) Seiple, Sarah (Jeremy) Schrimpf, Jason (Martha) Seiple, Austin (Eva) Seiple; and eight great-grandchild­ren. Joan’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you of appreciati­on to the wonderful staff at Friendship Village Dublin Health Center for their caring and support. One of Joan’s favorite hymns was Mother’s Evening Prayer by Mary Baker Eddy, with the last stanza – “No snare, no fowler, pestilence or pain; No night drops down upon the troubled breast, When heaven’s after smile earth’s tear-drops gain, And Mother finds her home and heavenly rest.” The Memorial Service will be held at 1PM on Sunday, October 10, SCHOEDINGE­R DUBLIN CHAPEL, 5980 Perimeter Dr., Dublin, OH, where family will receive from 12PM until time of service.
