Goodson investigation taking too long

-

When might we learn the results of the investigation into Casey Goodson Jr.’s shooting death? In December 2020, Mr Goodson was shot five times in the back and killed by off-duty Franklin County Deputy Jason Meade as Mr. Goodson was entering his grandmother’s residence. The deputy reportedly stated that Mr. Goodson had waved a gun when driving by him earlier. Goodson was licensed to carry the gun, a gun that was apparently never used to threaten or fire upon the deputy.

Since the killing, both the Franklin County Prosecutor’s and the U.S. Attorney’s offices have been investigating, but 10 months later and still no decision or charges have come forth. Why? Jason Meade was placed on paid administrative leave after the shooting but has since been granted paid disability retirement. What have Mr. Goodson or his family been granted since his killing? Not justice.
