MEET QUENTIN

-

Quentin was born prematurely at 25 weeks. He had a grade IV Infantile Intraventricular Hemorrhage, a severe brain bleed that required having a shunt placed. Quentin had his first brain surgery when he was just two weeks old. He had several more major procedures, including a second brain surgery, before he was able to go home on oxygen, a feeding tube, and many medications. In total, Quentin spent 316 days in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Today Quentin is 7 years old and loves learning and playing with his friends. “We feel so fortunate to have Nationwide Children’s so close to our home. We had no idea how fortunate we were when Quentin was born. I truly feel we had the best team working with our family throughout our hospital stay. That was such a blessing to our family” says his mom, Nichole.

One of Quentin’s favorite things to do is to watch sports (he’s a fan of all sports!) with his dad, so you better believe he’s excited to watch all of the runners and walkers on race day!
