Wesley R. Stivers, age 23, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, October 03, 2021 after a long battle with addiction. He was a 2016 graduate of Westland High School and South-western Career Academy, where he enjoyed his time with the Westland Marching Band in the percussion section. Wesley enjoyed spending time with his family, The Columbus Blue Jackets, and music. He was quiet and shy at first meetings, but those that knew him well will remember him as loving, caring, smart, and witty. Although he struggled to see the good in himself, it was quite obvious to those surrounding him how big his heart truly was. He enjoyed expressing himself with his style, whether it be tattoos, piercing, shoes, or his hair style or color (whether his mom liked it or not). He was preceded in death by his grandparents (maternal) Deborah and Michael Schroeck (paternal) Judith Stivers and Steve Stivers. He is survived by his beloved cat Joba; parents Laura Schroeck-moore and Stephen (Camille) Stivers; siblings Ryan (Margot) Stivers, Alissa (Angel) Juarez; niece Penelope; nephew Angel Jr; aunt Colette (Mark) Datz; aunt Marci (Eric) Wurzauf; great-aunt Kim (Ron) Ferguson; as well as his extended family and many friends. While his time on this earth was short, Wesley’s big heart and soft smile will never be forgotten. Services will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 at Jerry Spears Funeral Home (2693 W. Broad St). Visitation hours will be from 3-6 PM. A memorial service will be from 6-7 PM. Family to host inurnment at 11am on October 23 at Sunset Cemetery and a celebration of life immediately following at The Moose Lodge 1444 Demorest Rd.
