Mary E. Will (Black), a Christian, born December

12, 1934, in Springfiel­d,

Ohio. She went home to be

with the Lord on Thursday,

October 7, 2021. Mary

was a very independen­t lady, but after suffering a

stroke 7-weeks earlier, she lost her ability to speak

and her mobility overnight. With her strong faith, she endured her new situation with dignity and continued with her kind encouragin­g demeanor and smiling face. Mary was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church, primarily active at St. Paul’s Lutheran in New Rome, Ohio. She assisted with designing a new kitchen for the multi-purpose room and

active with the kitchen ser

vices and hospitalit­y group. Mary also was a faithful participan­t in the Women’s Circle (Ruth). In later years, she became a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grove City, Ohio. Mary’s life was being a homemaker for her husband and her four children. Although, she did work occasional­ly outside of the home, she

began as a hostess at

Johnny Reb’s (an upscale restaurant in Atlanta,

Georgia), was a sample

lady for Big Bear, secretary and bookkeeper for Prairie Industrial Designers, and Dairy Queen hostess. Mary was famous for her cookies and lasagna. She had an

interest in collecting pieces

of orange blown glassware and possessed over 150 pieces. She is survived by son, David R. Will (Patricia); daughter, Terri L. Kowaliw (Michael); sons, John B. Will

and Andrew D. Will (Svetlana); six grandchild­ren and seven great-grandchild­ren.

Mary was preceded in death by husband David L. Will, parents Samuel and Edna Black and sister Margaret Rickabaugh. Celebratio­n of Life will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of New Rome multi-purpose room, 55 Pasadena Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43228 on Friday, October 15 from 3-5pm. In lieu of flowers (flowers will not be accepted at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church), contributi­ons can be made to Mid-ohio Food Bank, 3960 Brookham Dr, Grove City, OH 43123 by calling 614277-3663 or at give.mofc. org.
