Jeffrey Lee Kohn, age 71, of Minerva Park, Ohio, passed away on October 6 due to complicati­ons from a long battle with progressiv­e Multiple Sclerosis. Jeff was born on June 26, 1950 in Evanston, Illinois to the late Paul and Doris (Leech) Kohn. He excelled in academics and sports and was graduated from Harrison High School in Harrison NY in 1968. He earned a Bachelor of Science in History from the University of Wisconsin-milwaukee. He was graduated from Capital University Law School with a Juris Doctor, selected for Law Review and received the Order of the Curia. He worked at Northweste­rn National and then at USFG as a claims manager in Columbus, Ohio. Jeff worked hard at every job from Shift Manager at Mcdonalds, and gas station attendant to the youngest claim manager, so he could pay for law school. He retired from Wirtz & Kohn, a law firm

specializi­ng in insurance defense. He married his loving wife Janet of 49 years on December 18th, 1971. They met on the first day of college at a mixer square dance. Together they welcomed their beloved daughter Carey on December 12, 1985. He is preceeded in death by his in-laws Fred and Helen Dicke, Edward Krivacek (step father-inlaw), David Titus (brotherin-law), Rick Nunez (uncle), David Schaap (nephew), Patricia Dicke (sister-inlaw). Jeff is survived by his wife, Janet (Dicke) Kohn; daughter, Carey (Justin) Durand; grandson, Cooper Lee Durand and grandson to be welcomed December 2021; Aunt Eleanor Nunez; sister, Kathy (Robert) Schaap; brothers, John (Linda) Kohn, Peter (Adrianne) Kohn, Andy Kohn, Tom Kohn; sisters-in-law, Ellen Dicke Titus, Pamela (Mick) Krieger; nieces and nephews include Tim (Shannon) Kohn, Chris (Courtney) Kohn, Christie (Stuart) Koch, Carly Kohn, Katie (Brian) Poe, Barbie (Brandon) Vieira, Bill (Mary

Ryan) Krieger; great nieces and nephews, Taylor and Gannon Kohn, Paul and Elizabeth Kohn, Della and Mira Koch, Landon and Hadley Vieira, Gray and Jane Krieger, Ethan Poe. Jeff was known for his strength of character, his wise counsel, his strong moral compass, his brilliant mind and his abundance of courage. Jeff was loved by many including his family, best buddies and lake, neighborho­od, law and work friends. He loved cars, boats, politics and golf, the Cubs and the Green Bay Packers.
