Hartup, Maxine J. “Mickey” (Hurst)
Maxine J. “Mickey” (Hurst) Hartup, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2021 in Dublin, Ohio. She was born June 13, 1930 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a daughter of the late Roger and Helen (Mckinley) Hurst. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She married Carl R. Hartup, September 15, 1951 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and he preceded her in death July 12, 2021. She is survived by her children, Denise (Robert) Bridges of Dublin, Ohio, Debra Sharvin (Jimmy Hull) of Worthington, Ohio and David Hartup of West Chester, Ohio; grandchildren, Kelly (Robert) Perlman, Amy Oaks, Megan (Justin) Wester, Michael Sharvin (Amber Evans), David Sharvin (Jamie Goldstein), John Sharvin, Nicholas Hartup and Emily Hartup; great granddaughters, Avery Oaks, Henley Perlman, Savannah Wester and Astrid Sharvin-evans; sister, Geraldine Royse. She was preceded in death by her sister Virginia Doxsee and parents Roger and Helen Hurst. Mickey graduated from Central High School in 1948 and The Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne in 1951. She practiced as a Registered Nurse for 30 years and retired from St. Joseph Medical Center in 1994. An active member of United Faith Presbyterian Church, she served as an elder and deacon. She volunteered at the Church food bank and also served on several committees. She was a volunteer at the Matthew 25 clinic for many years. She was a member of the Lutheran Hospital Alumni Association in Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Central High School Alumni Association. Mickey loved babies and children, Christmas and angels. She lit up whenever one of the grandchildren or great-grandchildren were present. Mickey and Carl traveled extensively and enjoyed spending winters in Texas after retirement. They had many wonderful friends throughout life. A private family funeral service will be held in Fort Wayne. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne on Saturday, November 6, from 2-4pm, where the family will welcome all those who wish to join in celebrating Mickey’s
life. Her final resting place
will be Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Capital City Hospice and Sunrise of Dublin for their loving attention and excellent care.
