Eisner Center at Denison reopens with public shows

-

GRANVILLE – For the first time in more than a year and a half, Denison University's Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts is reopening its doors to the general public.

Beginning Oct. 25, a limited number of tickets per performance are now available to fully vaccinated members of the community.

“We opened the doors to the Eisner Center in August 2019 and spent seven months trying to get everyone into the new building,” said Dr. Margot Singer, the Center's Director.

“We then spent the next 18 months trying to keep everyone out of the building! It's incredibly exciting to be moving back to having larger audiences again. Our students and guest artists have been working hard throughout the pandemic and deserve the energy and recognition that comes from performing in front of a live audience.”

All Eisner Center events will be ticketed through the Eisner Center Box Office. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required and must be submitted through the online ticketing portal in advance.

Masks will be required at all times in the performance space and other public areas.

Upcoming events this semester include the Department of Theatre collection of short comedic plays, “Take Five By Ives,” Nov. 11, 12, and 13, and Nov. 16, 17, and 18, at 8 p.m. and Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. in the Hylbert Family Studio Theatre; the end-of-semester student dance concert, “In/visible Spectrum,” Dec. 3, 4, and 5, at 8 p.m. and Dec. 5, at 2 p.m.; and musical performances including concerts by student composers with ensemblesin-residence Third Coast Percussion (Nov. 3, at 7 p.m.) and ETHEL (Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.).
