Small Business Saturday reinforces the value of shopping locally

-

I was happy to see the Nov. 21 article “Reasons to shop Small Business Saturday.”

Most of America is run on small businesses and many depend on holiday shoppers for their year’s bottom-line profit. I would also like to lift up the value of shopping at your local thrift store/resale shop.

I volunteer at Tri-village Trading Post in Grandview and it is a hidden gem for most in the area. In business since 1953, The Trading Post has everything from household goods, to art, toys, decor, craft items, media and clothes all organized in a clean beautiful place.

The Trading Post is a mission arm of First Community Church so it is entirely volunteer run with all proceeds going to mission projects locally and internationally.

Shopping at the Trading Post is a win-win-win. You buy lovely things, you help with the earth’s sustainability and you aid in someone else’s project for good. Shop Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am-4pm and the first Saturday of the month.
