Browns getting healthier in time for Sunday night showdown with Ravens
Browns All-pro right tackle Jack Conklin and star running back Kareem Hunt have returned from injured reserve, and Browns coach Kevin Stefanski is optimistic they will be available Sunday night when the Browns (6-5) visit the AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens (7-3).
“Yeah, I’m hopeful,” Stefanksi said. “They’re both progressing well.”
Conklin missed the past three games after dislocating his left elbow in a 15-10 home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 31. He was sidelined two other games this season with a knee injury.
Hunt sat out the past five games with a right calf injury he suffered Oct. 17 in a 37-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals at Firstenergy Stadium.
In six games this season, Hunt racked up 69 carries for 361 yards and five touchdowns to go along with 20 catches for 161 yards.
The Browns haven’t had their dynamic running back duo of Hunt and starter Nick Chubb in the same game since Oct. 10, when they fell 47-42 on the road to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Chubb has missed three games, two with a calf injury and one with COVID-19.
Scheduling note
The Browns’ previously unscheduled Week 15 game against the Las Vegas Raiders at Firstenergy Stadium was announced as the first half of an NFL Network doubleheader on Saturday, Dec. 18.
The Browns will host the Raiders at 4:30 pm., with the New England Patriots visiting the Indianapolis Colts at 8:20 p.m.
That means the Browns will play twice on Saturday in December, as they also have a 4:30 p.m. Christmas Day game in Green Bay against the Packers.
