Naomi Irene Brewer, of

Columbus/westervill­e and formerly of St. James City,

Florida, passed away Friday,

November 19, 2021. Naomi

was born in Wellsville,

Kansas September 18, 1927. Her life was dedicated to her husband, Jim and family, Mark (Rita) Brewer,

Ruth (Michael) Williams,

June (Michael) Daugherty,

Neil (Nancy) Brewer, along with 10 Grandchild­ren and 5 Great Grandchild­ren. She is survived by her brotherin-law and wife, John and

Kathleen Brewer; and several nieces and nephews.

Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years James A. Brewer, her daughter June Daugherty,

Seyler and Edith (Preston)

Seyler, sister in law and her husband L. Jean and

Raymond Mclane, brother in law and his wife Robert

A. and Betty (Teddy) Brewer.

Naomi managed many fund raising rummage sales for churches, civic clubs and museums in Columbus and on Pine Island, Florida. In 1980, she and Jim relocated to St. James City Florida where Naomi became active in many organizati­ons and joined the Pine Island

UM Church.she served as president of the St. James

Hobby Club, Pine Island

Garden Club and Museum of the Islands(moti). She was an organizer of the

St. James City bike path committee. In 1999 Naomi was named “Pine Island

Citizen of the Year” and “Pine Island Woman of the

Year”, in recognitio­n of her civic work.in 2014, Jim and

Naomi were recognized by the St. James City Civic Associatio­n

as “Volunteers of the Year.” In 2018 she and

Jim relocated back to central Ohio. She was a avid gardener who shared her love of plants. Naomi loved playing “Rummikub” with many friends and family. A private Service/interment will be at Blendon Central

Cemetery, Westervill­e Ohio.
