Mary Rose Whyte Mcclung,

passed from this world on Tuesday, November

9, 2021. She was born in Wheeling, WV on April 8, 1924 to Frank J. and

Katherine Hack Whyte and grew up with 3 brothers,

Charles and wife, Eleanor, both deceased, Tom and wife, Margaret Ann, both deceased, and Frank, deceased, his wife, Linda of Wheeling, WV. She is a graduate of Mount de

Chantal Academy, Wheeling,

WV and the College of St. Mary of the Springs,

Columbus, OH, now Ohio

Dominican University. Mary taught elementary school on January 6, 1945. They raised 5 children, Michael

C. Mcclung, Linda M. Huhn, deceased (Robert), Katherine

Mcclung, John Mcclung (Lori), both deceased and

James C. Mcclung, Jr.

Mary has 11 grandchild­ren and 22 great-grandchild­ren. Mary was active in the Catholic Church, and the children’s activities, especially, Altar Guild, religious education, and scouting. She also worked at Lazarus Department

Stores. After retirement,

Mary and Jim started “Fox

Fire Antiques”. Mary moved to Wesley Glen, Columbus,

OH in 2007, then to SC with

Linda in 2017, until 2018, with Kathy. Mary had a full and fulfilling life and will be remembered and missed by family, friends and colleagues. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11am Thursday,

December 2, 2021 at St.

Joseph Catholic Church in

Raleigh, NC and then Mary will be interred with Jim in Resurrecti­on Cemetery,

Lewis Center, OH. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Joseph

Catholic Church Altar Guild,
