Remember the Lazarus holiday windows?

- Becky Kover

During the holidays, it's impossible not to reflect one's youth and yearn for the days of old. For me, one of the highlights of the season was visiting the Lazarus window displays Downtown with my family.

Every year, my siblings and I would beg to visit the store. It was a bit of a trek from rural Madison County, but Mom and Dad enjoyed it almost as much as we did.

Dad would usually just take Broad Street into Columbus, and by the time we would reach the Hilltop area, we could see the “Christmas tree” lights atop the store.

The tree was a beacon, and we couldn't wait to see what was in store for us when we arrived.

I know I'm not alone in waxing nostalgic about the wonderful displays. There are probably many other people who have fond remembrances as well.

If so, The Dispatch would love to hear from you.

Here's what you can do: h Send us your favorite memories from visiting the Lazarus department story window displays. And, if you recall the year(s) you visited, please include that as well.
