Ada Jeanette Sexton, age 97, died Saturday, Nov 27, 2021 at Friendship

Village of Dublin, where she had lived for several years. Jeanette was born in Steubenvil­le, Ohio, to

Charles Daniel and Mary

Irene (Mcdevitt) Sexton.

She graduated from Steubenvil­le

High School and attended The Ohio State

University, graduating with a degree in education. She taught elementary school for several years before attending Michigan State

University where she received her master’s degree in education. She returned to The Ohio State University

where she taught and completed her Doctor of Education in the OSU Music Education

Department for more than 30 years, becoming a professor. After retiring, she devoted her time to taking care of her mother who lived to 100 years. She was a member of the Pilot

Club and the Chi Chapter of Delta Omicron. She was often approached by former students from throughout her teaching career. To her nephew, was always

Geege because as a child he couldn’t pronounce Jeanette

and it stuck. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, brother William R Sexton,

and sister-in-law Betty

J (Overly) Sexton. She was also preceded in death by a very good friend, Jane Porter

whom she knew since childhood and remained her close friend. She is survived by a nephew,

Daniel E. Sexton of Cambridge,

OH; a great nephew,

Douglas M. Sexton of Plain

City, OH; and a great niece,

Jennifer Book of Danville,

IN. Arrangemen­ts entrusted to SCHOEDINGE­R DUBLIN where a visitation will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 12-2pm followed by a service at 2pm.

She will be laid to rest at a later date at Union Cemetery

in Steubenvil­le, Ohio.
