Voter regrets being ‘suckered’ into crossing party lines

-

You don’t know me, and you wouldn’t care if you did. I am a Democrat, I crossed party lines to vote for you because I bought your lies.

I believed your “family guy” act and your “man of faith” persona. Too bad it was all an act. You had a chance to do something great, to do something that would outlive your administration and put you in the history books as a true statesman.

The voters were clear in 2018. They voted overwhelmingly that they were tired of the same old partisan gerrymandering that had rendered their votes moot for decades and opted for change. They wanted a new way to draw the map, and the numbers voting for it were unmistakable. You took their votes and their voices and threw them into the trash.

Why?

To appease a base and to hell with everyone else. Congratulations, you suckered me. But know this: The next time I think about trusting a member of your party, I will think of you and know better. A citizen and voter that you don’t care about. James Agler, Hilliard
