Attitude of GRATITUDE
Balletmet thankful ‘Nutcracker’ returning to stage
When asked to describe his feelings about the return of Balletmet’s “The Nutcracker,” Artistic Director Edwaard Liang gets right to the point. h “Great relief; great gratitude; really emotional,” Liang said. “There’s a sense of joy.” h Last year, Balletmet broke its streak of consecutive productions of “The Nutcracker” dating back to its 1978 founding by canceling the classic holiday ballet because of the pandemic. h Now, nearly two years since the Sugar Plum Fairy,
Nutcracker Prince and Rat King last graced the stage of the Ohio Theatre, “The Nutcracker” is back. Starting Dec. 10, a full slate of 18 performances of the family favorite will take place through Dec. 26.
