Jerry Wells Ruby, former United States Marine and retired Captain of the Columbus Fire Department, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 8, 2021. Born in Portsmouth Ohio April 9, 1940, to Dennis and Pauline Ruby, now deceased, Jerry is survived by his loving wife and companion of nearly 60 years,

Helen; daughter, Kristina (Larry) Wurm; sons, Dennis (Heather) and Darren Ruby; grandchild­ren, Zachary

Griffith, Hannah (Tyler)

Ludrowsky, Jacob, Garrett, Niklas and Rocco Ruby; and two great grandchild­ren,

Teagan Ludrowsky and Ruby Griffith. He also leaves

behind sisters, Sally (Bill) Wentzel, Betsy Kerr and Bonnie Elliott; and brothers, Michael and Mark (Martina) Ruby; as well as many nieces, nephews, and special friends. During his nearly 33 years of dedicated service with the Columbus Fire Department, he was awarded several commendati­ons. A sports enthusiast, Jerry was an excellent hunter,

fisherman and, following in

the footsteps of his father, an avid gardener. No doubt, God will put his talents to work in Heaven. Family will receive friends Monday, December 13, 2021, from 4-6 pm at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 S. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43207. Funeral service

will be held on Tuesday,

December 14, 2021, at 12 noon at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 80 E. Markison Ave, Columbus, OH 43207, with Pastor Edward
