Ohio State’s Shelton named AD at Case Western Reserve

Ohio State senior associate athletic director TJ Shelton has been named athletic director at Case Western Reserve.

Shelton has been at Ohio State since 2007 and has served as the lead administra­tor for several teams. He also managed athletic risk and compliance efforts, negotiated athletic equipment and apparel agreements and participat­ed in fundraisin­g efforts. He served as the assistant athletic director at Washington

University in St. Louis for 15 years.

“I am thrilled for TJ Shelton and for the Case Western Reserve Department of Athletics,” OSU athletic director Gene Smith said in a statement. “TJ has been an incredibly important member of our executive leadership team who has worked diligently for the opportunit­y to be an AD. I think he is going to be a terrific AD and I look forward to following his progress.”

Shelton will succeed Amy Backus, who is retiring this month.
