Ricart Automotive has bought the Dan Tobin Dealership Group in Dublin in a deal that expands the family-owned dealership's selection of autos and its reach in Columbus.

Ricart assumed full ownership and operations of the dealership on

Wednesday.

“We are so excited to be acquiring an incredible business from a great automotive dealer," Ricart President Rick Ricart said in a statement. "Dan Tobin should be so proud of what he's built, and we're grateful for his trust in us to be the new caretakers of his dealership and his team. More than anything, we love the people in Dublin and can't wait to be a part of the community.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal expands the Ricart lineup to include Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Hummer to its lineup.

The addition of the electric Hummer franchise support Ricart's move on electric vehicle growth and education, Ricart said. The deal also allows Ricart, best known for its dealership in the southeast side of the city, to expand its operations and customer base to Dublin area.

Jimmy Snyder, current executive manager of the Dan Tobin Dealership Group, will remain on leading the shop under the Ricart name.

“It's an honor to be passing on my

legacy to Ricart Automotive, another local, family-owned operation," Tobin said in a statement. "When evaluating who would take over my dealership, it was extremely important to me that it would be another local business owner with the same love for Columbus and its people." mawilliams@dispatch.com @Bizmarkwilliams
