Jackson (Banker), Gwen

1929 - 2021

Gwen Jackson, 92, passed away with her family by her side, December 14, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Bellaire, Ohio on

July 17, 1929, Gwen will be remembered for her warm smile and friendly personality. Always kind and patient, her spirit and energy were an inspiration to all who met her. A cheerleader for the Bellaire Big Red and a great student, Gwen loved her hometown and memories. She married the love of her life, Jim at the young age of eighteen.

Their marriage thrived for seventy-one years. The couple settled in Columbus and raised three children in Grandview Heights. They loved to travel and spend time with friends, visiting

Europe and New Mexico numerous times. Gwen enjoyed her career, working with several organizations including The Ohio Hospital

Association. Her most cherished roles were as an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many.

She was a prolific reader, reading two - three books per week and kept notes on every book she read.

She loved playing cards and Mexican dominoes with her friends. Gwen is preceded in death by her devoted husband Jim. Also preceded by her parents

sister Dorothy (Spahr) and brother Alan. Gwen is survived by her children,

Mark (Pam) of Kalamazoo,

Michigan, Beth Garfield (Bruce) of Columbus, Brent (Patti) of Columbus; along with several grandchildren,

Sarah Caldwell (Jeff), Becca

Bailen (Michael), Abbi

Jackson, Harrison Jackson; and great grandchildren,

Benjamin and Connor

Caldwell and Emmett
