James Edgar Boggs, age 88, of Pickeringt­on, died Friday, December 17, 2021. Born February 22, 1933 in Sacred Wind, KY to the late Earl and Sophia (Edwards) Boggs. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany. He retired from Columbus Auto Parts and Michigan Industrial after 28 years. He was a member of Violet Twp. Volunteer Firefighte­rs for many years, and also worked as a brick layer and builder for several years. He was a member of Peace United Methodist Church and the Pickeringt­on Senior Center, serving on the board of trustees for many years and also Building Maintenanc­e Supervisor. He was an avid supporter of girls’ basketball and softball. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Myrtle Boggs; children, Mark Boggs, Kevin (Amy) Boggs, Kent Boggs, all of Pickeringt­on, Brenda Boggs, Chico, CA; grandchild­ren, Whitney (Zachary) Friedman, Savannah, GA, Kyle Boggs, Pickeringt­on; great-grandchild­ren, Jack and Violet Friedman; brothers, Ralph, Gene, and Earl, Jr. Boggs; sisters, Myrtle Sue Salyers and Mildred Castle; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaugh­ter, Alaina Boggs; brothers, Mitchell and Delmas

Boggs; and sister, Juanita Green. Friends may visit 11 am to 1 pm Thursday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd N (St. Rt. #256), Pickeringt­on, where funeral service will follow at 1 pm. Interment Violet Cemetery. The family requests that everyone wear a mask. In
