Cindy L. Espenschie­d (Cox), passed away peacefully from Breast Cancer in the Kobacker House on

December 21, 2021 in Columbus,

Ohio at the age of 65. Cindy was born in 1956 in Sandusky, Ohio. She graduated from Heath High

School and completed her

Registered Nurse degree at

Columbus State University in 1990. She married Dane

Espenschie­d, her Kmart blue light special, in 1980.

The couple raised 3 beautiful children, Kevin Evans,

Lacie Puzines (Billy), and

Corey (Katy) Espenschie­d in their home. Her children, friends and neighbors will remember her as an individual with a great “Spirit of Creative Energy” and an eye for decorating on a dime. She truly believed in

Renew, Reuse and Recycle.

Cindy always encouraged everyone to pursue their goals. Cindy not only accomplish­ed becoming an

RN, which was her dream job, she was a supporting and caring advocate for women’s health as she battling Breast Cancer.

Cindy was a comfort and inspiratio­n to others as she assisted them in their understand­ing and education of this terrible disease.

Cindy was multi-talented and spent much of her free time creating arts and craft projects such as embroideri­ng, quilting, cross stitch, framing, sewing, crocheting and most recently, diamond dotting. Many of her products ended up as special gifts for others. During the

Covid Pandemic she redirected her energy to creating and donating over 1000 surgical masks as well as, more than 150 surgical scrub caps and headbands for hospitals, weddings, family, friends and neighbors. Her generous actions were a testament to her beautiful soul. Cindy, as the oldest of 4 siblings, was a key individual, even at her young age in the upbringing and support of her brother (Wayne) and sisters (Susan and Sandy). Cindy enjoyed the last few years of her life spending time with her 3 beautiful grandchild­ren,

Bentley Espenschie­d (11),

Paisley Espenschie­d (5) and Kinsleigh Puzines (5).

They were a wonderful joy in her life. Cindy is survived by her husband, Dane (married for 41 years); children, Kevin, Lacie and

Corey; brother, Wayne Cox; and sisters, Susan Keifer and Sandy Bowers. She is also survived by her step father, Richard Chapman; and step sisters, Debra

Main and Julia Chapman.

She was preceded in death by her mother Patricia J.

Chapman and 3 fur babies:

Cinny, Alfie and Dalton (Big

Baby D). Cindy also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews all of whom have gifts created by her especially for them. Last but not least, she leaves the Golden Girls, of which she was one of the 4 members (Jan-marie, Gayle and Macine). Family will receive friends on TUESDAY,

DECEMBER 28, 2021 from 5:30-7:30pm at the TIDD
