1920 - 2021
Helen Tozer (Dobos) Stone lived an extraordinary life, spanning the tenure of 19 U.S. Presidents. Born October 6, 1920, she passed away at age 101 on Christmas Eve. The daughter of immigrant parents, her father was a career coal miner. She endured through the Great Depression, graduating from Woodrow Wilson HS in Beckley, WV; graduated from Beckley Business College so she could work at a skilled job during World War II; watched our astronauts walk on the moon as she raised her two sons and worked as an Environmental Clearinghouse Coordinator for the Ohio Department of Transportation; and marveled at the world that has developed since during her lengthy retirement, taking the opportunity to visit relatives in Hungary several times. She was preceded in death by and now joins in heaven her parents Frank and Susan
Tozer, first husband Francis
J. Dobos, second husband Walter S. Stone, son Joseph Dobos, and brother Alfred Tozer. She leaves to cherish her memory son, David Dobos; granddaughters, Cheryl (Jamie) Cuckler, Jennifer Mccann, and Emili (Nick) Chester; grandsons,
Joseph and Alex Dobos; five
great-grandchildren, Sarah and James Cuckler, Lauren and Colin Mccann, and Evan Chester; the children and families of her dear second husband, Walter; the children and families of her brother, Al; the descendants of her parents’ siblings here in the U.S. and who remain in Hungary; and a host of friends here in Columbus and around the country. Funeral arrangements are with The JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St., Columbus, 43204, where a funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, December 30,2021. Pastor
