Mary Ellen Guntzelman, age 88, passed away peacefully in her home on December 26, 2021, surrounded by loving friends, caregivers, and her friend of 50 years, Sue Ulrich. Born on October 22, 1933, in Cincinnati, OH, she was the second child of Louis and Eleonora Guntzelman. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Rev. Louis J. Guntzelman, her sisters, Joan Guntzelman and Carol Dermody. She is survived by her brother, Raymond (Sue) Guntzelman, and her nieces and nephews Laura Dermody, Tom (Sue) Dermody, Michael Dermody, and Jennifer (Jeff) Hildebrandt, and great nieces and nephews Jack Herbert, Luke (Ashley), Ellie, and Mason Dermody, Elise, Connor, and Liam Dermody, and Jeff and Caroline Hildebrandt. She loved and treasured her family with all her heart. There will be a visitation only in Columbus at the Schoedinger Funeral Home at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230 on Friday, December 31, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In Cincinnati visitation and the Funeral Mass will be on Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Cecilia Church, 3105 Madison Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45209 with visitation from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM followed by the funeral Mass and then burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Rd., Montgomery, OH 45249.
