Strawser, John D. “Dave”


1937 - 2021

John D. Strawser (Dave) October 27, 1937 – December 30, 2021. Dave was born at home in Lockbourne Ohio. A 1955 graduate of Grove City High School he went on to the Air Force and served in Germany, France during the Berlin Crisis. Dave worked at North American, Rockwell in radio engineerin­g and holds amateur radio license W8CKG. Dave worked in his family business John N. Strawser and Sons, and was an auxiliary Franklin County Deputy Sheriff and a member of the Jackson Township Zoning Board. Dave was a member of the Grove City Nazarene Church and a lifetime member of the First Pioneers of Ross

County, OH thanks to his brave ancestor Johann Strasser. He was an early member of the Scioto Model a Club, and as owner of Franklin Buggy Company restored national award-winning classic cars. Dave was a farmer at heart, and loved to tinker, engineer and fabricate in the garage and play in the dirt with his heavy machinery. He was always ready to help a friend or stranger with advice, build something or to lend a hand. Dave was preceded in death by his wife and sweetheart Mary Lee (Griffith) Strawser, along with his parents, John and Melva Strawser, and brother and sister in law Don & Betty Strawser. Dave is survived by his children, Cheryl Strawser, John D. Strawser, Jr, and Suzanne Strawser and grandchild­ren Timothy, Jacob, Shayne, and Seaton. Dave is also survived by his brothers Jim (Karen), Danny and favorite niece Stacie, plus many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Family will receive friends from 1012 am on Wed January 5, 2022 with Service at 12:00 pm at his church, Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Rd. Grove City Ohio 43123.
