Vanessa Lynn Alexander Banks MSN, RN, was born in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of Isabelle Alexander and Lynchon Stewart. She was educated in the Columbus Public City School system and graduated from Linden Mckinley High School. She then graduated from the Ohio State University with honors obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She later received a Master of Nursing from Wright State University. She was a mentor and teacher at the

Mount Carmel Healthcare System for over 20 years and continued her career in the Columbus City Public School System where she retired after 17 years as

the School Nurse at Mifflin

Senior High School. In her years as a teacher and nurse, she helped hundreds of students grow personally and was always

a friend and confidante.

At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Vanessa was an active and faithful disciple of Trinity Baptist Church where she served with the Church School, Healthcare Ministry and several other ministries. In the community she was appointed to the State Board of Nursing by former Ohio Governor George Voinovich.

Vanessa possessed a sweet, beautiful spirit that was a gift from God. She was quiet and gracious; a faithful, committed wife and loving, nurturing mother. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the heart that she possessed.

She will be forever cherished by her loving husband, Thomas ‘TG’ Banks; dedicated son, Thomas Vincent Banks; very special cousin, Paula (William) Brockingto­n; niece, Heather Beynen Kaine; nephew, Bryan Thompson; sister- inlaws, Wynona Banks, Cynthia Price, Carolyn (Melvin) Slaughter, and Candi (Robert) Banks, her caregivers, a host of family and friends. Visitation Monday, January 3, 2022 5:30-7:30pm at Trinity Baptist Church, 461 St. Clair Avenue; also Tuesday, January 4, 2022 9am at the church with Celebratio­n at 10am. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate
