John S. Dicioccio, age 66, of Pickeringt­on, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at home. Born November 22, 1955 in Columbus to the late Salvatore “Sam” and Lillian (Dennis) Dicioccio. He was a retired communicat­ions engineer from AT&T and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. John will be remembered by family and friends alike as a man of strong faith who was liked by all. He was passionate about all things sports, as a player, a coach, and a high-school football referee. He had a seemingly infinite knowledge of the rules, the players and the history of games and particular­ly loved watching Indians baseball games with Marilynn. He was a skilled cook and it was a privilege and pleasure to be at his table, both for the fellowship and the food. He loved his family, which included over the years eight shelter dogs. His life was rich in friendship­s, many going back to childhood, and he will be missed greatly by all who had the honor of knowing him. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marilynn Dicioccio; daughter, Jeannie (Kenny) Wing; son, Mark (Ashleigh) Dicioccio; grandchild­ren, Rylee, Lucas, Chloe, Cadance, and Quinn; sisters-in-law, Judy Van Kirk and Nancy Van Kirk; and brother-inlaw, Fred Van Kirk. Friends may visit 4-7 pm Thursday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 550 Hill Rd N (St. Rt. #256), Pickeringt­on. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 600 Hill Rd N, Pickeringt­on, with Fr. Leo Connelly, Celebrant. Interment will be at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
