Ralph J. Portier, 71, died peacefully December 30, 2021, at his home in Pickerington, OH with family at his side following a 2-year struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was born October 22, 1950, in The Hague, The Netherlands. He graduated from Guernsey Catholic Center High School in 1969. He ended his 50 years of pub

lic service in fire, EMS and

law enforcement as the Chief of Police for the City of Groveport in April. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Robinson Portier; daughter, Stephanie (Brian) Vierstra of Thornville; 3 grandsons; 2 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Glenn

(Diane), Frank (Ellen),

Andrew (Tara), Fitzgerald (Cyndi) and Greg (Joanna) Portier; beloved in-laws; and many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents Swen Ralph and Yvonne de la Croix Portier,

three of his brothers Edwin, George, and Victor,

and first wife Sue Ann Milligan. As his last public

service, Ralph chose to donate his body to science. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu
