1945 - 2021

Carol Sturgeon Walsh, age 76, of Westerville, passed away on December 24, 2021. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Carol was the oldest of Ray and Rita Sturgeon’s eleven children. She graduated from Ursuline High School and The University of Akron with a BS in Accounting. Carol was a parishioner of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and an active member of the Westerville Senior Community Center. Carol adored spending time with her grandchildren and she is remembered by loving family and friends for her kindness, generosity, and craftiness. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, T. Joseph Walsh, parents Ray and Rita Sturgeon, and brothers John, Jimmy, and Philip Sturgeon. Survived by her children, Mary Walsh of Las Vegas, NV, Thomas R. (Tavie) Walsh of Dublin and Theresa (Averil) Dunn of Columbus; grandchildren, Dylan Walsh, Jennifer and Bryce Keyse, Larry, Anna and Olivia Dunn; and siblings, Susan (Gary) Simonsic, Mary (Barry) Armbrecht, Shellie (Bill) Thomas, Elyce Sturgeon, Elaine Sturgeon, RJ Sturgeon, and Patrick Sturgeon. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, on Saturday, January 8 from 1-3pm. Memorial Service will begin at 3pm. A memorial mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at a later date followed by a burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
