● Rachel Kapelke-dale: The author of the new novel “The Ballerinas” will appear in a virtual event co-moderated by Balletmet Artistic Director Edwaard Liang and Balletmet Executive Director Sue Porter at 7 p.m. Jan. 11. Kapelke-dale is the author of Vanity Fair Hollywood’s column, “Advice from the Stars.” She spent years in ballet training before her university studies and now lives in Paris. Her novel concerns a trio of dancers who met as students at the Paris Opera Ballet School. ● Leigh Lewis: The children’s author will talk about her new book, “Pirate Queens: Dauntless Women Who Dared to Rule the High Seas,” during an inperson event at 11 a.m. Jan. 15, at the Upper Arlington Public Library, 2800 Tremont Road.
