The Columbus Dispatch

Hello, Columbus

-

The pandemic has taken a toll on travel, but many people are starting to venture to destinations that they only dreamed of visiting in 2020 and early 2021. ● Yet many people are staying a bit closer to home for their adventures, and that's great, too! Regardless of where you are traveling,

Hello, Columbus would love to have a photo of you and your family or friends at your travel destinations. ● Choose a vacation photo showing you, your companions and the Travel page, and send it to The Dispatch.

Make sure to include the names and hometowns of the people pictured, from left to right; where the photo was taken; a tip to help other travelers; and contact information for you in case we have questions. But please, no submissions from previous years.

Submissions can be emailed to Becky Kover, bkover@dispatch.com.

?? COURTESY GINNANE FAMILY ?? MASSACHUSETTS Brian and Nicole Ginnane of Gahanna visit Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord, Massachusetts. The couple says The Dispatch travel page inspired them to find Author’s Ridge, where the literary greats of Thoreau, Emerson, Alcott and Hawthorne are buried. The cemetery was larger than expected and they had the place to themselves for the hour they visited. The couple recommends that visitors spend the rest of the day at Walden Pond only a few miles away. That was a tremendous experience that included a visitor center, documentary and breathtaking 2-mile hike around the pond.

?? COURTESY THE PATTON FAMILY ?? ECUADOR Laurie and Jamie Patton of Columbus take in the sights at San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos Islands. The couple says the snorkeling is fabulous, the water amazingly clear but colder than you may expect, so take or rent a wet suit.
