Reward offered in woman’s stabbing death

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for informatio­n leading to an arrest in the homicide of a 64year-old woman.

According to Columbus police, Belva Copeland was last seen on Sept. 9, 2020 as she arrived home at her apartment on the 1200 block of Marion Drive on the city’s South Side.

Copeland arrived home with someone else, who left the apartment later in the evening, police said. Copeland’s body was found more than a month later, on Oct. 14, 2020, inside the apartment, police said. She had not been seen since Sept. 9.

Copeland’s death was ruled a homicide. An autopsy performed by the Franklin County Coroner’s office concluded Copeland died after being stabbed.
