Woman’s abortion choice is no one else’s business
The fight for abortion rights is not about one's individual stances on abortion or adoption – it's about every person's right to make private decisions about one's own health (physical, mental and emotional).
A choice about one's body, one's family, one's health, is – by our own constitutional right to privacy – nobody's business but our own.
All Americans have rights. But which right comes first?
● The right to remain silent? Men do, women do.
● The right to privacy between a defendant and lawyer? Men do, women do.
● The right to privacy between a priest and confessor? Men do, women do.
● The right to privacy between a patient and a doctor? Men do, women do ... except a pregnant woman with an abortion doctor? That's anybody's or everybody's business? Or even, so far, just Texans' business?
Again, a choice about one's body, health, and family is nobody's business but one's own and one's doctor. Male or female.
Our constitutional right to privacy is everybody's right, first and foremost.
