Monday is the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. Because of the holiday:

● Federal, state, county and city offices will be closed.

● Post offices will be closed, and there will be no regular mail delivery.

● Parking meters in Columbus will be free, but parking restrictio­ns at some meters will be enforced, such as morning and evening rush hour bans, zones marked for valets, taxis, loading, handicappe­d-only and residentia­l parking permit areas.

● There will be no trash collection in Columbus. The trash-color collection schedule will rotate forward one weekday until the next holiday, which will be Presidents Day, Feb. 21. Those not assigned a color-coded collection day will have their regular collection delayed by one day during the week of the holiday, with Friday collection occurring on Saturday. Rumpke biweekly curbside recycling and yard-waste collection in Columbus also will not occur Monday and will be delayed by one day the week of the holiday, with Friday’s collection on Saturday.

● Central Ohio Transit Authority buses will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

● All Columbus Metropolit­an Library branches will be closed.

● Columbus City Schools and many other local school districts will be closed.

● Ohio State University and Columbus State Community College will be closed.
