- Michael Rich

Reynoldsburg, Dublin Coffman, Pickerington Central and Newark are the top four seeds for the Division I district girls basketball tournament.

All four teams won district championships last year, with Newark advancing to the state title game before falling to Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame in double overtime.

The top-seeded Raiders have won a district title in five of the past six seasons and 10 of the past 12. They are paired in the same bracket with ninthseeded Watterson, 10th-seeded Delaware Hayes and 12th-seeded Watkins Memorial.

Second-seeded Coffman, which won its first district title since 2017 last year, is in the same bracket with sixth-seeded Westerville South and 11th-seeded New Albany. The next-highest seed in that bracket is 15th-seeded Canal Winchester.

Third-seeded Central won its sixth consecutive district title last year and is in the same bracket with seventh-seeded Marysville.

Fourth-seeded Newark could see fifth-seeded Gahanna Lincoln or eighth-seeded Olentangy Liberty in a district final and 14th-seeded Teays Valley in a district semifinal.

In Division II, last year's district title winners Hartley and Granville are the top two seeds.

Top-seeded Granville is in the same bracket with third-seeded Caledonia River Valley, and second-seeded Hartley is in the other bracket with fourthseeded Jonathan Alder.

Top-seeded Worthington Christian and second-seeded Africentric could meet in a district final in Division III. Africentric seeks its seventh consecutive district title and 17th in 19 years.

But the road to a title in the other bracket is no less daunting with thirdseeded Cardington, fourth-seeded North Union, fifth-seeded Fairbanks, sixth-seeded Amanda-clearcreek, seventh-seeded Marion Pleasant, eighthseeded Fredericktown, ninth-seeded Columbus Academy and 10th-seeded Johnstown all competing.

The top two seeds in Division IV are in the same bracket, with top-seeded Tree of Life and second-seeded Berne Union potentially meeting for a district title. Third-seeded Newark Catholic could meet Tree of Life in a district semifinal.
