Ronald Lee “Buck” Herron, 79, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022. He was born July 6, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Eugene and Juanita (Noble) Herron. He was a Drum Major for 3 years and graduated from Hamilton Township H.S. Class of 1960. Ron initially worked for State Auto where he met his wife, Janice. He then worked at Nationwide Insurance where he retired with over 34 years of service. He was a longtime member of Walnut Hill U.M.C. Ron was a volunteer with Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the PACU for 6 years. He enjoyed cooking for others, especially at family gatherings, church events, and for the nurses at the PACU. He was a regular blood donor throughout his life, donating over 20 gallons of blood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Janice Herron; and sisters, Beverly Born and Joyce Meinert. Ron is survived by his daughter, Lori (David) Cuthbert; sister, Saundra “Sas” Pierson; sister in law, Beverly Cutlip; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., (HOOVER RD AT KINGSTON AVE), Grove City. Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Groveport Zion Lutheran Church, 6014 Groveport Rd, Groveport, OH 43125. Interment Fernwood Cemetery.
