Recap: The Clippers held a 3-0 lead through seven innings, but the bullpen allowed seven runs on five hits and three walks in eighth to take a loss in the season opener. The Ironpigs scored their first run on a double play, then added four consecutive hits, including two doubles. Jose Fermin and David Fry each hit homers to give the Clippers a 3-0 lead in the fifth. Kirk Mccarty and Thomas Ponticelli combined to pitch six scoreless innings. Aaron Pinto took the loss with four runs in just 1⁄3 of an inning.
