Eric Clapton and Carrie Underwood set concert dates at Columbus venues

English rock and blues singer/guitarist Eric Clapton is coming to Columbus.

The multi-grammy Award-winning musician will kick off his North American concert tour on Sept. 8 in Value City Arena, West Lane Avenue and Olentangy River Road.

Clapton, known for hits such as “Layla,” “Pretending,” “Bad Love,” Tears in Heaven” and “Lay Down Sally” is performing at only seven venues, and his touring band will include Doyle Bramhall II, Paul Carrack, Nathan East, Sonny Emory and Chris Stainton with Sharon White and Katie Kissoon on backing vocals.

The show will feature Jimmie Vaughan as special guest.

The 77-year-old performer married Melia Mcenery of Columbus in 2002.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum.

Carrie Underwood to perform March 4

Country superstar Carrie Underwood is coming to Columbus in March 2023.

As part of her “Denim & Rhinestone­s Tour” that will visit 43 cities, Underwood will make a stop March 4 at Nationwide Arena.

The eight-time Grammy Award winner and three-time ACM Entertaine­r of the Year will be joined by special guest Jimmie Allen.

“I’m thrilled to be hitting the road again with ‘The Denin & Rhinestone­s Tour,’” Underwood said in a press statement.

“I’m having such an amazing time with my Las Vegas residency and look forward to continuing that next year after the tour. I’m excited to bring the new music of ‘Denim & Rhinestone­s’ to life on tour, as well as put new spins on familiar favorites. We’ve been working hard already preparing an amazing show, and I can’t wait to see everyone on the road!”
