Addiction treatment and behavioral health provider Maryhaven has appointed Oyauma Garrison its next CEO.

Garrison was chosen by Maryhaven’s board of directors to lead the organization beginning June 29.

Garrison has been CEO of A Kid Again, a nonprofit offering recreational therapy for families who have children with life-threatening illnesses, since 2017. He has received the lifetime achievement award from the National Black MBA Association and has been a finalist for the CEO of the Year award from Columbus CEO magazine.

“Our board was honored and excited by the number of talented, qualified candidates who expressed an interest in leading Maryhaven,” Kevin Brady, Maryhaven board chair, said in a press release.

“After an extensive interview process, we believed that Oyauma’s flair for innovation, his extensive non- and for-profit leadership experience and his passion to continuously improve services to clients and families make him an outstanding candidate for our organization."

Garrison said it is an honor to advocate those battling addiction.

“Maryhaven has been an integral part of the central Ohio community since 1953, offering recovery services to more than 300,000 of our loved ones and neighbors,” he said in the press release. “I’m excited to lead an organization that inspires faith, hope, and trust as we expand our services to meet the growing needs and improve our community’s quality of life.”

Maryhaven generated $39.5 million in revenue in fiscal year 2020, the most recent year for which data is available. The nonprofit has approximately 400 employees.
