JUNETEENTH HOLIDAY CLOSINGS

-

The Juneteenth holiday falls on Sunday this year, so the holiday will be observed on Monday. Because of the holiday:

• Post offices will be closed, and there will be no regular mail delivery.

• Federal, state, Franklin County and city of Columbus government offices will be closed.

• The campuses of Ohio State University, Columbus State Community College and other institutions of higher education will be closed.

• All Columbus Metropolitan Library branches will be closed Sunday on the holiday, and will reopen Monday.

• Parking on city of Columbus streets with kiosks, app payment notice or remaining meters will be free, but parking restrictions at some locations may be enforced, including but not limited to zones marked for valets, taxis, loading, handicapped-only and residential parking permits.

• There will be no trash collection in Columbus on Monday. For residents assigned a trash color code, your collection schedule will rotate one weekday forward until the next holiday, Independence Day, which will be celebrated as a federal holiday this year on Monday, July 4. For those without a colorcode designation, trash pickup during the Juneteenth holiday week will be delayed by one day, with Friday collection on Saturday. Rumpke biweekly recycling and yard-waste collection will be on a regular Monday through Friday schedule.

• The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) will operate on a holiday or Sunday schedule on Monday.
