27 apply for Olentangy Schools board seat
Replacement decision expected on June 23
Twenty-seven district residents have filed applications with the Olentangy Schools Board of Education, expressing interest in replacing Mindy Patrick, who resigned from the board effective June 9.
Patrick and her family are moving outside the school district boundaries.
District spokesperson Amanda Beeman said the board intends to announce its decision on Patrick’s replacement during its June 23 meeting. The appointee would serve the remainder of Patrick’s unexpired term, which expires Dec. 31, 2023.
“The Olentangy Board of Education is looking for a resident who is interested in serving our community by working with district administration to achieve our mission of facilitating maximum learning for every student,” board president Kevin O’brien said.
The 27 applicants are: Lori Brlas, Emily Carey, Matthew Charney, Nilda Cortes, Melanie Farkas, John Hartman, Keith Hoffman, Allison Houle, Matthew Hutchinson, Bradley Jorgenson, Kelly Kammann, Chetan Kandhari, Kris Mazzola, Anindita Mukherjee, Addie Natalie, Geetha Nori, Shilpa Saxena, Carrie Schooley, Lizett Schreiber, Kathleen Shibley, Perash Tiwari, Elizabeth Trende, Benjamin Turner, Libby Wallick, Jason Winters, Eric Zagrans and Sarah Zimmerman.
Patrick announced her decision at the board’s May 26 meeting.
“It has been a privilege and honor” serving alongside current and former board members, she said.
