NAPLES, F - B. Gary Jensen, 82, played his last round in the game of life on June 29, 2022 in Naples, Florida where has resided permanently with his wife Susan for past 11 years. Gary really enjoyed his many years being in Florida, but his heart was always with Columbus, Ohio where he was born on June 14, Flag Day, 1940. As a young man, Gary worked as a caddie at Columbus Country Club where watched and learned the game of golf and the etiquette involved. Plus, he also developed his own skill and timing with the golf club especially his short irons. Gary was on the East High School golf team for his Freshman & Sophomore years and then attended the new Eastmoor High School where he was a member of the first graduating class in 1957. He did attend The Ohio State University and in turn became a lifelong Buckeye fan. He worked at Franklin International, originally Franklin Glue Company, for over 30 years in numerous capacities. His next career move was to have his own Manufacturers Rep agency, The Jensen Sales Group. His team of six salesmen sold products for small manufacturers or helped bring new products to the market; one of which, Timbertech, is now a well-known national brand. As a young man, Gary played in many golfing events in the Columbus area. Later he enjoyed competing at various country clubs including Walnut Hill CC, Groveport CC, and was one of the founding members at Jefferson CC. He relished in the completion and won many events. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Marjorie Jensen and his brother and wife, Richard and Shirley Jensen. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 47 years, Susan. His brothers and sisters-in-law Rob and Marilyn Moorehead, in Senecaville, Oh and Paul and Marie Moorehead in Naples, Florida. Plus, many nieces and nephews. There is no memorial service planned for Gary at this time but just think of him when watching a sporting event, he enjoyed them all, or hitting that short shot on to the green. In remembrance of Gary’s life, a gift can be made in his name to a charity of one’s choice or to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
