Walter J. Golden, 56, of Columbus passed away Saturday, October 1st, 2022. Walt was born April 21st, 1966 to John and Claire Golden of Columbus, Ohio.

Walter, aka Walt, Foot, Big foot, and Pappy graduated from Wehrle High School. Always known as a hard worker, from age 13 working at Mathias’s Garage Station with the best group of men you could ask for. He then moved on as a paper delivery driver and more which brought him to being a school bus driver at Big Walnut Local School District. When he wasn’t working you could find him hunting, fishing, camping and hanging out with friends, working on carpentry projects and being a prankster.

Walt was the kindest, goofiest, fun-loving and caring “big kid” you could ever meet. He enjoyed teaching and telling stories to every kid he ran into. He always greeted you with the biggest smile and gave the best hugs a person could ask for. Just him walking through the door would brighten up the whole room.

Walt was preceded in death by his father, John R. Golden; grandparents, Clarence and Louise Callahan.

Walt was survived by his partner, Jessica Hamon; son Kody N. Golden; mother Claire A. Golden (Callahan); brother Steve (Tracy) Golden, sister Mary (Tom) Vernon; his grandkids Kaden, Amya, Carter and Cage; Great Aunt Pat Callahan and multiple cousins including the Mccann family, three nephews and two nieces.
