UPPER ARLINGTON - Dorothy was a wonderful example of a wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and great-grandmothe­r. Dorothy was born on January 14th, 1921 to Solomon and Leah Henigman. She was raised on a farm in Geneva-on-the Lake, Ohio. A WWII-ERA bride, Dorothy and her husband, Sam, moved to Columbus, Ohio and started their family with the birth of their daughter Anita followed by their twins, Sharon and Stuart. While always maintainin­g a loving and supportive home, Dorothy continuall­y exhibited much generosity and kindness. She so enjoyed her relationsh­ips with many friends in the area and was truly a role model for many. Predecease­d by her parents and her siblings Max Henigman, Jennie Garb and Mary Gerstein. Dorothy is survived by her children Anita (Peter) Swanson, Sharon (Richard) Sorensen and Stuart (Frances) Son and her grandchild­ren Jeffrey (Melinda) Blostein, Alan Blostein, Kari (Matthew) Perman, Jori (Rory) Hindley, Barbara (Kevin) Smole and Lori (Nick) Defrank. She is also survived by her great-grandchild­ren Zachary and Lauren Blostein, Ryan and Ben Perman, Connor and Madelynn Hindley, Samantha, Sean and Sydney Smole, and Anthony and Lily Defrank. Dorothy will be greatly missed but remembered for her selfless ways, love for others and her delicious recipes. She was adored by all her knew her! What a Bubbie!! Graveside service will be1:00pm, Wednesday, December 21 at New Agudas Achim, 2565 Performanc­e Way, Columbus.
