- Lowell S. Anstine, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2023. He was born May 18, 1929 in Hartville, Ohio. Lowell graduated from Manchester College in Indiana with a degree in Business Administra­tion. He met the love of his life, Barbara Gene Helser, at Manchester and they married on Christmas Eve of 1951. Lowell served in the U.S. Army, 40th Division Signal Corps, as a Cryptograp­hic Specialist during the Korean War. He joined the Park National Bank in Newark, Ohio in 1954. Lowell spent 12 years as Manager of the Hebron Office before returning to the Main Office as Vice President leading the Mortgage Loan Department. He retired in 1992 after 38 years with the bank that “Made a Difference”. In retirement, Lowell enjoyed playing golf, emailing friends and making greeting cards, which usually meant creating a few rhyming lines. Lowell was a long-time member of The First United Methodist Church in Newark where he served as treasurer for 25 years and served on the Staff Parish Committee. He was a member of the Newark Lions Club and served as President in 1984. Preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Barbara, his parents, Reuben and Florence Anstine, 2 sisters who died in infancy and 1 sister, Ruth Anstine. Survived by 3 children: Randall (Lori) Anstine of Worthingto­n, Cindy (Mark) Ourant of Waxhaw, NC, and Larry (Brenda) Anstine of Long Boat Key, Florida; one sister, Carol Anstine, formerly of Uniontown, currently Reynoldsbu­rg; 8 grandchild­ren and 5 great grandchild­ren. The family will receive guests during calling hours 2-4pm on Saturday, February 25th at the Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home in Newark. A Celebratio­n of Life Memorial Service will be held February 26th at 2pm at the Kimes Chapel at the Wesley Ridge Community, Reynoldsbu­rg. Guests are invited to join the family for a reception immediatel­y following the service.
