Paul Bostick Long Jr., 82, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away peacefully into heaven on February 17, 2023. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 23, 1940. Paul graduated in 1958 from Harbor High School in Ashtabula, Ohio. While continuing his education at Miami Jacobs School of Business in Dayton, Paul met the love of his life, Judith Annette Ginger. Paul and Judy were married April 15, 1961.

Paul began his career in the trucking industry in 1958 working for Paul B. Long Sr. at General Highway Express in Sidney, Ohio. He continued his passion opening Dan’s Transit in Lexington, Kentucky in 1983, and expanding to Ohio with The Connection Company Incorporat­ed, and finally Customer Care World Wide in 2000. Paul was passionate as a business owner, he cared about his employees, and he looked forward to going to the office every day. He officially retired December 31st, 2022.

Paul also loved to spend time on the golf course. He was a charter member and former Captain at Muirfield Village Golf Club, a Memorial Endowment Club Member, and served as Emeritus Vice Chairman of The Memorial Tournament. He developed lifelong friendship­s through his love for golf, especially with his friends that were in the “Geezers”. He was involved in other organizati­ons over his life including, The Rotary Club, Board of Trustees for the Shelby County YMCA, The Greens Committee for the Piqua Country Club and Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Sidney, Ohio.

Paul had a contagious personalit­y with an unmatched sense of humor. He had the ability to bring laughter to any situation. Paul was a very generous man and loyal friend. He cared deeply for his family and friends, which he demonstrat­ed throughout his life by his kindness and immeasurab­le support for those he loved. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, and grandfathe­r and he will be missed greatly.

He was preceded in death by his father Paul Long Sr. (Marion), mother Britta Dispenza, his in-laws Wilbur and Margaretta Ginger, and his grandsons Devin and Erik Long. Paul is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judith; children, Jeff (Polly), James (Mindy), and John (Gayle); grandchild­ren, Polly, Elizabeth, Emily (Matt Warner), Lexie, Kristin, and Caroline; step grandchild­ren, Parker (Hana) Lawrence and Tanner Lawrence; step great grandchild­ren, Leighton and Beckham Lawrence; his sister, Patricia (David) Corbiserro; brother-in-laws, John and David (Cindy) Ginger; as well as special cousins and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at their church, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 5475 Brand Road, Dublin, Ohio from 1-3pm on Saturday, February 25th. Immediatel­y followed by the funeral service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Evans Scholars Foundation. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Kobacker House for the outstandin­g care they gave to Paul and his family throughout his passing.
